Rooted in a profound commitment to autism education, the inception of Shrub Oak International School began more than two years before we opened our doors, with a vision to create a place where every student is respected and can find their unique path to success. Our journey began by identifying a group of experts who shared this vision and conducting extensive research to find the ideal location—a place where students could enjoy the therapeutic benefits of open space and natural beauty, and that would be easily accessible for our families. We found all that and more in Shrub Oak!
After transforming the former Jesuit seminary into a bright, modern facility, we turned our attention to what has become the essence of Shrub Oak: a truly innovative, transdisciplinary curriculum designed to meet each student’s individual goals and needs. Since opening in 2018, Shrub Oak International School has grown from a small, passionate group of educators and students into a thriving community. Our beautiful campus, designed with input from leading experts in autism education, offers a serene and supportive environment. Here, students benefit from personalized learning plans, cutting-edge therapeutic interventions, and a supportive residential program.
