A Festive Burst of Creativity at Shrub Oak International School

The holiday season is in full swing, and at Shrub Oak International School, our creative clubs are alive with festive energy. We believe in nurturing creativity as a vital part of our students’ development, and this week, our holiday arts and crafts activities are bringing seasonal joy and artistic expression to everyone involved.

In Art Club, students are channeling their imaginations into the Winter Village Project. This beloved activity transforms everyday milk cartons into enchanting miniature houses. With colorful paints, glittering accents, and LED lights to illuminate the windows, the students are crafting a whimsical display. Each house is unique, reflecting the individuality of its creator. Together, these tiny masterpieces will form a glowing Winter Village that will take center stage at an upcoming holiday event on campus. Through this project, t Shrub Oak students are not only honing their artistic skills but also building confidence and teamwork as they collaborate to bring their festive vision to life.

Meanwhile, our Photography Club is capturing the magic of the season with its annual holiday photo shoot. Students have been busy setting up a variety of holiday-themed backdrops and props to ensure everyone can find the perfect scene for their portrait. From cozy fireplace settings to snowy landscapes, the options are as imaginative as they are festive. This tradition is a highlight of the year for many students, offering them the chance to step into the role of both photographer and model. It’s a wonderful way to foster creativity, develop technical photography skills, and celebrate the season together.

Our Paint and Sip evenings add another layer of creative fun to the week. Gathered with friends, a cup of hot cocoa in hand, students work on winter and holiday-themed paintings that showcase their artistic talents. From serene snowy landscapes to vibrant holiday wreaths, the paintings reflect the diversity and creativity of our student community. These sessions provide not only an opportunity to create but also a relaxing, social environment where students can connect, unwind, and enjoy the spirit of the season.

The festive energy buzzing through Shrub Oak International School this week is a testament to the creativity, enthusiasm, and collaboration of our students and staff. Whether transforming milk cartons into glowing works of art, posing for festive portraits, or painting their wintery visions, each activity showcases the unique talents of our students while fostering a sense of togetherness and joy.

At Shrub Oak International School, we strive to make every holiday season special, and these arts and crafts activities are just one way we support our students in exploring their creativity, building confidence, and making memories that will last a lifetime. This week, the halls are filled with more than just holiday decorations—they are brimming with the vibrant spirit of our community, coming together to celebrate through art.
