This week, we held a special event at Shrub Oak’s Little Oak Farm Stand, offering handcrafted Valentine’s Day gifts and treats, all made with care and creativity by our students. From festive cards to delicious sweets, every item reflected their hard work and dedication. The event brought our community together to celebrate the holiday while supporting our Farm Program.
Shrub Oak takes great pride in providing meaningful learning opportunities through hands-on experiences, and our farm stand reflects the hard work and dedication of our students. There was an assortment of handcrafted goods, including sugar and salt scrubs, lip balm, and sachets, all made with natural ingredients. These self-care items made thoughtful Valentine’s Day gifts while giving our students the opportunity to engage in practical skills, from measuring and mixing to packaging and presentation. Additionally, we offered heart blocks, pre-order flowers, and beautifully designed Valentine’s Day cards, all created by our talented students to spread messages of love and friendship.
Of course, no celebration would have been complete without delicious treats, and our farm stand was stocked with homemade confections to satisfy every sweet tooth. Chocolate pretzels, Rice Krispy hearts, and other festive goodies were available, lovingly prepared and decorated with a Valentine’s touch. These treats showcased the creativity of our students in the kitchen while reinforcing essential skills such as following recipes, measuring ingredients, and working collaboratively.
The Valentine’s Day Farm Stand was more than just an opportunity to purchase gifts—it was a celebration of creativity, hands-on learning, and community spirit. Every item sold directly benefited our Farm Program, enabling us to expand our agricultural initiatives, maintain our farm animals, and provide students with meaningful experiences in sustainability, responsibility, and teamwork. We were thrilled to see so many members of our community visit the stand, support our students’ efforts, and find the perfect Valentine’s treat for a loved one.
