Charles Cochran

PROFESSIONAL:  

Charles Cochran joined Shrub Oak after 24 years of service as a police officer. He began his career in Hartford, Connecticut, where he served the capital city’s diverse community in a variety of assignments: He was a Field Training Officer, As Sergeant, he was an Investigator in the Internal Affairs Division, As Lieutenant, he was the Commander of the Vice and Narcotics Division and the Watch Commander. Additionally, he was voluntarily assigned for 13 years to the Emergency Response Team where he received specialized training in Dignitary Protection, Hazard and Risk Assessments of High Value Installations and Surveillance and Counter Surveillance Techniques.  

Charles also served as a United States Marine assigned to an infantry heavy weapons support platoon.  

After retiring from Hartford, Charles served as a New Milford Police Officer where he was assigned as an auxiliary school resource officer and rose to the rank of Lieutenant. He was assigned as the Headquarters and Watch Commander during his tenure. Charles received his BS in Psychology from Charter Oak State College and is a certified instructor in a variety of topics. Charles strives to ensure that the school community has a safe, secure environment in which students can attain an enhanced quality of life, enjoy new learning opportunities, and achieve a greater understanding of their life experiences while on campus.  

PERSONAL: 

Charles is a recreation and outdoor enthusiast who enjoys meeting nature with the bare minimum of equipment. He is also a certified skydiver and licensed for PWC, watercraft and motorcycle operation.
