Our location offers a breadth of opportunities for trips to museums, plays, sporting events, outdoor activities and markets, trips into town, and so much more in the greater New York City area. All of our activities are designed based on student interests. Want to see an activity not listed here? Just ask! Our dynamic activity offerings will constantly change to keep the students excited about their experience at Shrub Oak.
We encourage family involvement with students. Opportunities to support our trips and events are available for family members who would like to share in the exciting trips we offer our students.
Clubs and Groups
Life at Shrub Oak is engaging and dynamic with many opportunities of social interaction and a breadth of activities including student-formed clubs and groups. Clubs and groups are an outstanding way to create new relationships with others in the campus community by exploring common interests. All clubs and groups are formed at the request of the students and have staff member support. Our Student Activities staff support all aspects of the club or group, encouraging students to take leadership roles in designing their Shrub Oak experience.
The Hub is our main student gathering space. It is designed to be a social gathering spot for students, where they will find different activities, spaces to do work, interact with each other, watch a movie, or meet a new friend. Not only is the Hub the social spot for campus, but it houses our healthy snack stop, available 24 hours a day to students. The Hub is the go-to spot for a variety of entertainment options.
Our large auditorium provides an outstanding space for students to gather for a movie night, work on a theatrical or music production with other students, or hear a lecture. Students interested in theater or music also have opportunities to share their art with the greater community.
